Cimagraphi 9.0 is totally compatible with Windows NT4™, Windows 2000™, Windows 2000 Professional™, Windows XP Home™ and Windows XP Professional™ operating systems, and follows all of the conventions and rules that are supported by them. If you are familiar with these operating systems, you may skip this section. If you are not familiar with these operating systems, you should read this chapter and refer to the appropriate operating system User's Guide. |
The system modules can reside in any of the following three states:
| Not active | Icon appears in the Program Folder, but has not been activated. |
| Active | The module is open and the program window for that module is displayed. |
| Dormant (Minimized) | Active, but window is displayed as an icon at the bottom of the screen. |
To work with a Cimagraphi 9.0 module, that module must be active. If you close a Cimagraphi 9.0 module before saving the data, the information is lost. Use the Dormant state to clear a "crowded" display. Some Cimagraphi 9.0module functions involve time-consuming calculations. You can minimize a module while it is calculating, work in a second module, and return to the first module without the risk of data loss.
Modules that are not in use should be closed. Each open module occupies memory and CPU time. The following features are applied to Cimagraphi 9.0 modules:
| Close | Close a module by clicking the close button (the right one) on its upper right corner. |
| Maximize | Maximize a module by clicking the middle button at the upper-right corner of the window or double-click its title bar. |
| Minimize | Minimize a module by clicking on the left button at the upper-right corner of the window. |
| Move | Move a module by pressing the title bar and dragging the mouse. |
| Resize | Resize a module by dragging the edges. |
The Close, Maximize and Minimize buttons appear as follows in the upper right corner of the window:
